The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl is a live album by the Beatles, released in May 1977, featuring songs compiled from performances at the Hollywood Bowl in August 1964 and August 1965.

Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей The Beatles. The 2016 masters are very different, with Apple stating it was essentially a new album, it also has a slightly new title (Live at the Hollywood Bowl, rather than The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl), and a completely different sleeve. There are also four new tracks on the 2016 release.

The sound quality of the 1965 recordings was equally disappointing, however. The Beatles were among the few major recording artists of the 1960s not to have issued a live album. Consequently, among Beatles fans, pent-up demand for a concert album continued to build. The album was originally released as a vinyl LP. Even though the recordings on The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl were between 12 and 13 years old, the album reached number one on the New Musical Express chart in the UK and number two on the Billboard chart in the US. In New Zealand, it was to be pressed and released locally with the catalogue number PCS 6130 (the 6000 series was designated for EMI (NZ) only releases), but this did not occur.

Documenting The Beatles’ Hollywood Bowl concerts on tape was no easy feat, as producer Sir George Martin explained in his album notes for 1977’s The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl: The chaos, I might almost say panic, that reigned at these concerts was unbelievable unless you were there. Only three track recording was possible; The Beatles had no ‘fold back’ speakers, so they could not hear what they were singing, and the eternal shriek from 17,000 healthy, young lungs made even a jet plane inaudible

The Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl, a 1977 live album containing material from the Beatles' Hollywood Bowl concerts in Aug. 1964 and Aug. 1965, is coming back in an expanded release globally on Sept. 9 on CD and digital download for the first time, it was announced early today by the Beatles' Apple Corps' Ltd. and Universal Music Group. The cover photo for the album, also on the poster for the film, was taken by the group's . tour manager Bob Bonis on Aug. 22, 1964 as they boarded a chartered flight in Seattle to Vancouver, . for their first concert in Canada. Today's announcement said the new release is sourced from the original three track tapes of the concerts, which have been remixed by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell at Abbey Road Studios.

A new, remastered live album containing the Beatles‘ performances at the Hollywood Bowl in 1964 and 1965 will be released this fall. The album, Live at the Hollywood Bowl, coincides with a new documentary by Ron Howard about the band’s early career, dubbed Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years. Although the group put out the platinum-selling The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl in 1977, the new record contains a different track list with four previously unreleased songs. The recordings were sourced directly from the three-track tapes of the concerts and were remixed and mastered at Abbey Road by George Martin’s son, Giles, and engineer Sam Okell. Beatles' 'Love' at 10: Paul, Ringo and Friends Celebrate Revamped Show. Technology has moved on since my father worked on the material all those years ago, Giles said in a statement.
