The discography of the English rock band Oasis consists of seven studio albums, one live album, five compilation albums, six video albums, one extended play, twenty-nine singles, nineteen promotional singles and thirty-six music videos. The band have sold an estimated 75 million records worldwide and been cited by Guinness World Records as the most successful act in the United Kingdom between the years 1995 and 2005.

Be Here Now, Oasis third studio album, was released Augst 21, 1997. Be Here Now - Album Art & Tracklist" Track Info. Written By Noel Gallagher. Release Date August 21, 1997. Oasis Album Art Oasis. 1. Definitely Maybe - Album Art & Tracklist.

Intercut with interviews and featuring 17 tracks - primarily from Definitely Maybe and (What's the Story) Morning Glory? - - There and Then compiles footage from those 1995 shows, as well as performances taped in 1996 at one of Oasis' two huge concerts at Maine Road in Manchester. The latter were particularly significant, marking Oasis' triumphant homecoming after relentless touring (including five visits to America in just over a year).

Yet it soon came to be seen as a disaster, and the embodiment of hubris. As Be Here Now returns in the form of a deluxe box set, and the band’s story is retold in the documentary Oasis: Supersonic, the album still inspires extreme reactions. If it couldn’t be Britpop’s zenith, then it must be the nadir.

Oasis . here and Then. Video from Oasis (1996). Scanned from the November 1996 Select Magazine.

In retrospect, this album is appallingly shit. And it's such shitty shit that it makes me actually like the relatively decent moments on the first two Oasis albums less than I otherwise would. I was relatively ambivalent about "Be Here Now" at the time of its release, having liked the spirit and sound (if not the featherweight substance) of those first two albums, and sort-of-digging the weirdly trudgy, grim apocalyptic beat of "D'you Know What I Mean". You like that, right?!" at people and then expecting them to be full. This album is pompous, coke-fueled, insubstantial twaddle. Listening to the entire thing from start to finish is akin being allowed to thumb through Noel's own personal Beatles scrapbook and finding it has blow residue and "me like Beatles" scrawled in crayon on every page. The parts of this mess that aren't horrible are basically straight-up formulaic and see the group recycling their own sound completely, hoping/praying it'll keep working.
