They're Only Chasing Safety is the fourth album by American post-hardcore band Underoath. The album was released on June 15, 2004, through Solid State Records. Prior to recording, it was ready to be recorded with Underoath founder and frontman Dallas Taylor, but instead was replaced with the band's current lead vocalist Spencer Chamberlain

They’re Only Chasing Safety is Underoath’s fourth studio album. It featured a drastic line-up change for the band, with drummer Aaron Gillespie the only remaining original member. The line-up formed for this album would stay the same until Aaron’s departure in 2010 (he would eventually return for the 2016 reunion). The album was a huge commercial and critical success, selling close to 100,000 units in its first week of release. In the underground heavy and punk music scene, the album is considered a watershed moment.

Also, I would like to point out the irony of the album title, They're Only Chasing Safety. I wonder if they deliberately named the album that in reference to themselves. cbmartinez June 21st 2004.

The keyboards on this album are very good and Underoath have a very skilled keyboardist in their band. Lyrics - 10 The lyrics on this album are very meaningful and if you are going through hard times this album is worth listening and if you are christian you should pick this album up for sure. Spencer is one hell of a screamer he is very talented at his job and when he screams you can understand what he says unlike some bands in the screamo music category.
