Infinity is a Eurodance band from Norway that formed in the late 1990s. Its current members are Kjell Gabriel Henriksen from Asker and Birgitte Moe from Bærum. Infinity was formed in 1995 as Barbie-Q, consisting of three rappers and a singer. Birgitte Moe (born in 1975) was working as cashier for a bakery at Sandvika Storsenter and Kjell Gabriel Henriksen (born Kjell-Gabriel Eikli Hendrichs in 1974) was working in a record store in the same shopping mall.

The Infinity Project was a pioneering Goa Trance group in the early 1990s, and later became a record label, TIP Records, largely responsible for introducing trance to London and the UK. Raja Ram, a trained jazz flutist and member of the 1960’s band Quintessence, formed The Infinity Project in 1989 along with Graham Wood. In December of that year they organised their first party and played their first primitive tracks.

It's not the first time this outfit have turned Polish folk music inside out: they released an album of dub remixes earlier in the year. Here the deconstruction and reinvention go up a further gear, due to the inclusion of some of their own mercurial, idiosyncratic compositions alongside the traditional tunes. The two female vocalists' harmonies are complemented by the cheerful bounce of the dulcimer, some angular rasping violins, and the baggy thud of the frame drum keeping everything earthbound. Pick of the Album: The breakbeats and Bjorkish vocals of 'Skip Funk'
